We sort of celebrated Canada Day on Saturday, too! They had the Montrose races that Wes and Wade enter to win MAMA bucks. It's just paper money, but has actual value in the Montrose stores! So they entered the bathtub race, hospital gurney race, creeper race, egg catch, etc. I'm not sure how much money they made this year, but maybe Jenn will tell you on her blog.
I was videoing away, and got alot of the races on my camera, but when I got home, it says I can't access my DVD!! How disappointing. I've had some trouble before, and changed the brand of disc I buy, but it's still acting up! I'll have to call and send it in for repairs.
We went to a park on the 4th of July where the boys could swim, and Wade did a bit of wind surfing. But the rain showers made us leave early. Then we all had a wonderful BBQ at Wade and Jenn's with about 30 people there. Wade set off some firecrackers, and I have a souvenier to prove it! (One hit and cut my finger =) After that we went to Jenn's parents' house, because we get a wonderful view of the fireworks. They were great this year!!
Then on Wed, the 5th, I went up to the logging camp again, for a couple days before we headed to Steamboat Springs for another volleyball tournament. The weather didn't cooperate with us, and the guys actually played in the rain!! I took pictures with my 'normal' camera, so we'll have to see how they turned out.
Wade and Wes got second in the 'A' division, and really had to work for it! I'm sure they're quite sore this week. Arlin played with a partner he hasn't played with before, so they didn't break pool, but had alot of fun. He didn't have to play in the rain on Sunday, then.
Friday nite Ernie and I went out for a Chinese dinner and then to Strings in the Mountains for our 34th anniversary. It happened to be BeauSoleil playing, a wonderful Cajun/Acadian band from Louisiana!! Man, that guy could fiddle! All the songs were in French. I had bought the tickets, and Ernie really enjoyed it. People even danced inside the tent, and outside on the grass. I thought I had a digital photo of it, but it doesn't show up right now when I'm posting pictures. Oh well.
Now I'm home for this week, cooking three dinners up at YWAM during the SST (camp for teens) up there, and also spending my day at church answering phones.
We also had alot of rain here in Montrose, a great reprieve for the forest fires, and the thirsty land.
