It seems like I've been gone a long time, but it's only two weeks, so I'll have to catch you up on some things.
We went to a reunion of sorts, to the old homestead site of Ernie's grandparents, Archie and Clara Goodwin. It's in Withee, Wisconsin, and we met about 17 'new' relatives! Archie and Clara had two children die as newborns, and one as a small child. They were buried on the homestead, so we placed a headstone there to honor and remember them. The farm is now owned by Mennonites, so the field around the spot is being used, but there's a fence around the site where large trees used to stand. They are cut down now, so it's a pretty bare spot.
The two ladies in the picture with us are Judy Miron and Beth Pratt, something like first cousins once removed. It was fun to meet new people. Now I can fill in my Family Tree Maker a bit more!
